Scene Command

The first arriving apparatus on the scene shall assume temporary scene command until a higher ranking or more experienced firefighter arrives on scene, then they shall assume scene command.

Fire scene command shall remain at a safe enough distance away from the scene to spot any potential hazards to personnel on the scene and to communicate with all units on scene. Under no circumstances should they be involved with the fire operations itself unless necessary.

Any Medical personnel that attend a scene shall always assume medical scene command, but it is recommended to allow the most experienced medical personnel to assume command. They will establish a triage area away from the scene in the event there is an accident or patients are found.

The above shall only apply to EMS calls - On fire related calls, cooperation between EMS and fire command should be established with the fire scene commander
